Family Halloween Pics

This is Kiley with the Elmo outfit on Halloween night. My mom is on the left, and Kiley's mom is in the background.

Obviously, she didn't like the head!

Ha! Caught her with the head on! Of course, it only lasted about two seconds after the picture was taken!

Lauren was a devil - oooo!!

She wanted me to take "evil" pictures!

I think this one did the job! It's her favorite. Posted by Picasa

Austin at Work Trick-or-Treat

This is Austin - the little boy I've talked about before who just recently had a liver transplant. His website is on the left - I call it "Austin's Miracle!"

Austin was "Dash" from the Incredibles!

He was showing us his cool pose!

Last one - note: this is not my messy desk! Posted by Picasa

Another Harry Potter Countdown! SPOILER PICS!

Only less than 9 days until the Goblet of Fire comes out in theaters! I'm so excited. I know that book backward and forward, and it's my favorite out of the series so far. Oh yeah - the pics in the post are from http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org

Have fun!

All done

By the way: Can anyone see the Harry Potter video at the bottom or can you only hear it? I can't actually see it!
UPDATE: Never mind! I didn't I had to DL iTunes to have it show up on my website LOL!

"The move" is now complete. It was a difficult one this time... I was one of many links in a line of people moving. Problem - the person at the beginning of the chain was determined not to move until the last possible minute b/c "It's just too hard!". Half of us went over and helped them pack up just to get it done.

Then, the person in my future desk (third in the link, I was fourth with at least two people waiting on me) dragged her gludious maximus even longer after the first person. I pushed my huge filing cabinet in the middle of the cubicle hallway to make my point. Well taken, b/c she started finally moving her stuff at a normal pace.

I am proud of myself, though, compared to other people. At least I didn't really say anything to her, b/c some people turned into frickin' drama queens. Our move wasn't planned until about 4 or 5pm, and one person in particular started trying to kick my cubicle-mate out around 2pm. My c-m just about blew her lid after awhile LOL.

Luckily, the person behind me is the sweetest one in the office, plus I've known her since we started working at K-mart together many many years ago. LOL - we both met our husbands working there. The guys were both "stockboys" or "code 1000s" as we used to call them ROFL. Every once in awhile, I'll call Josh a code 1000 and watch his face cringe.

Good Lord, I need to clean again. Having Josh on a different shift than me really takes its toll on the chores. We don't want to wake each other up, so we save the loud chores (vacuuming, running the dishwasher, etc) for the weekend. It makes me crazy that I can only vacuum at certain times.

I've got A LOT of laundry to do also. We brought out our winter clothes and they all came out not as April Fresh as they went in. My tiny hallway is littered with clothes-to-be-washed!

I'm eating a couple of tiny rock candy crystals. I wonder what would happen if I accidentally ate kitty crystals instead - LOL!!

I have not yet begun to move

It's only 9:30 in the morning and I have run out of Sugar Babies.

Lord help all of the world right now.

And I have MAJOR vertigo. Climbing under desks to unplug things is not my bag today, baby.

Moving Day - sort of...

Well, due to the boss change, we have to move our desks closer to her. In fact, the whole department is moving tomorrow. I doubt if I'll be able to blog at all ::sniff sniff::. I hate moving my big filing cabinet. I think it's about 100 lbs.

Website update: I've added pics of my favorite actors, movies, singers, etc. on the left margin. I'm starting to get back most of what I had before the big template fiasco.

In the meantime, here's a photo for you brunette lovers like myself out there!

Mr. Yuck

LOL - Since I reminded myself of Mr. Yuck a couple of days ago, I've been on the rampage for Mr. Yuck stickers. Here is my collection so far! My ultimate is a Greenville, SC Poison Control sticker!

I love html - I love html - I really do

I lost my WHOLE template. Ha - I saved it, though. But not here. I have it on notepad. I did something funky to it and none of my writing would show up again. Now I have to repaste things one at a time to see what the freakin' problem is/was. GRR...

So, based on what time of the day you see this, and whether or not I give up for the day, the site may or may not look like what it did yesterday. I've also decided to de-clutter.

Crap

I'm finally getting a cold/flu/whatever. I knew it would happen, being around all these sickos at work. Especially w/ reps bringing me paperwork, having just coughed or sneezed right in front of me and then handing the paper over. THANKS SO MUCH, people.

-Body aching (especially my neck)
-Sudden congestion
-Dizziness (must be where all that came from before)
-Really sore throat

I'm using those zinc drops, since the package reads "will cut colds in half". Yeah, right, we'll see. Though, it also said don't eat/drink anything citrusy before taking them. Does Sprite count? We'll see... tomorrow I might have a freakin' hole in my throat due to Sprite. LOL

203. Band Comics

My bassoonist friend runs the "Tales from Band Camp" website. I've posted some of my favorite cartoons here. Note most of my faves are, of course, the piccolo ones! (Click on them to enlarge them, obviously... they're huge on the website and too big for mine). Check out the rest on Amy's website "Tales from Band Camp" on the left side of my site.

Newest Piggy Update!!

$2.26 - how pitiful is that? Well, if you count uncashed band paychecks, it's $302.26, but if you also count paychecks from band not yet received, then it's $677.26 or up to $752.26, depending on what actually I get paid for since they didn't make it to the state competition. Most of that extra is Christmas $$, though. So, technically, I'm still @ $2.26. :)

I have a pitiful net worth right now, also. Though, I guess if you count my 401k and stocks, I'm in the green. :)

However, this means that I am still worth more dead than alive, and worthy of making it onto Court TV as a murder victim. Motive? INSURANCE POLICY! LOL, maybe I shouldn't have taken out so much supplemental insurance on myself. I'll refrain from telling you, since 1: you don't care and 2: it's none of your beeswax... Of course, that would mean that the only people who have motive to kill me right now would be Josh and my parents since they're my joint beneficiaries! :) Once we have kids, they'll be the joint beneficiaries with Josh (either that or Josh is the sole benif.), but for now, that's the way it is. It's not like they can retire, but they could all quit for about 10-15 years LOL.

Haha - We have funny trivia sent to us at work when they email the lunch menu for the day. Yesterday's was: What is the only food that doesn't spoil? The answer is honey, but I wrote back "Twinkies." LOL

201. Haunted Trail

I don't know what kind of primal urge I needed to fulfill, but it took me 12 bucks a person to fulfill said urge.

We waited in line quite some time in the cold, but it wasn't bad. I just wish I'd had some entertainment besides the local played-out top 40 station.

BY THE WAY - the trail was not a drive-through, as I had originally stated. It was a 30 minute walk/run-through the woods! I almost made water when they led us into the "mental institution" part of the trail and all of a sudden, there were people with freaky masks on IN MY FACE when there was nothing there about two seconds before. They don't let you have cellphones and other lights on in there for a good reason - it would have spoiled the effect for sure.
Haunted Trail: 1 / Me: 0

I was ok with the "chainsaws" b/c they weren't even chainsaws. LOL - they were sawed-off leafblowers with attachments that looked like small sawfish noses. It's highly possible that they were even cardboard attachments.
Haunted Trail:1 / Me: 1

However, at the end, I ran SMACK INTO FREDDY KREUGER. Almost made water again, came close to losing voice.
Haunted Trail: 2 / Me: 1

Haunted Trail wins.

200. Insulting Name Generator

Laugh away!

My insulting name is Charver Bumfluffmonkeywhore!

LOL - update 11-3-05: My maiden name came out to be Charver Penisbreath!
What's yours?

Post #199 - For Lack of a Better Title - ha!

I forgot to write down what happened to me on Sunday.

I swear I thought I was having a heart attack or a stroke... no kidding.

I got up around the same time I usually do on Saturday... around 10 or 11am. I decided to have a lazy morning, so I laid down on our couch and watched TV. I got sleepy and fell asleep sometime near noon. Later on into the afternon after I woke up (maybe around 3...told you it was a lazy day!), I felt my heart doing crazy flips, which it does randomly anyway. I've never thought it was a big deal, considering it never affected me (other than stopping to wonder why it's doing that). Besides, it never lasted longer than a minute or two before. But on Saturday, I started to have issues. It seemed like I couldn't breathe in enough air to satisfy my body, and I could feel my heartbeat everywhere, like it does when I'm underwater too long. My heartbeat was LOUD in my ears, too. It was like my heart was trying to jump out of my mouth. I sat up, thinking maybe I was laying wrong... or something... who knew?

I walked in to wake up Josh and suddenly I started getting dizzy and my vision was blacking out, like I was about to pass out. I kept telling him something was wrong, but he was still half asleep and didn't really understand me. I completely lost my hearing over the span of about two minutes. I know it was gradual b/c I was right beside the door to the central air pump. I thought it was stopping at first, but then I realized it was me when I looked down at Lucy when she made a meow face and I never heard the meow. I think I made some kind of noise (I know I tried to, but I couldn't hear anything at all by then), b/c Josh got up and rushed over to me, guiding me back to the couch. He brought me ice water and made me lay back down. My heart was still crazy then, but then it calmed back down to about 70 for about ten minutes. Later on, my pulse went back up to where it was (140 and more throughout this whole time), but I never experienced any effects like I did before.

I really didn't know what was happening, and I was worried for the rest of the day.

Has anyone else had goofy inexplicable things like this happen to them before?

Upstate High Schools Are Marching Band Champs

Upstate High Schools Are Marching Band Champs (no, I'm not making $$ off this - band rules!)

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Several Upstate high school bands competed in the state marching band competition held Saturday.

In the 3-A competition, Greer High School took home the championship trophy. (This was our class.) It was only the second time the school has participated in the event. (This was also a serious upset - usually, Blue Ridge won state, but Greer snuck up on everyone this year!)

The bands from Union High School, Blue Ridge High School and Travelers Rest High School also placed in the competition.

In 4-A competition, Greenwood High School placed seventh and Boiling Springs placed 10th.

In the 2-A division, Pendleton High School placed third, Chapman High placed seventh and Chesnee High School placed eighth.

The band from Blacksburg High School marched home with first place in the 1-A division.

8 out of 12 ain't bad

Well, final candy apple count is 8 out of 12. The packet was supposed to make 12 apples, but I guess I "laid it on a little thick" LOL. Actually, I made more like 7 1/2. The last one was a disaster since the candy was close to drying by then. I have a blob of candy halfway wrapped around the 8th apple! The rest of the candy stayed on my spoon, making a lollipop that I am now enjoying.

I totally missed Daylight Savings Time. I woke up today with half of the clocks in house updated and the manual ones still what they were last night. I was getting ready to accuse Josh of playing a joke on me when it dawned on me that the clocks changed last night!

I volunteered at Greenville's "Booseum" today as part of our group from work. It's a Halloween event for kids... crafts, a haunted house, a toy shoppe, and other things, I think. I got to help kids write their names in Heiroglyphics and wrap them up like mummies. I think I had a better time than the kids! Most of the kids liked having their arms wrapped (they could choose one body part for one ticket), but a lot of them let me wrap their heads. One was so scared that she only let me wrap a finger! But another wanted me to cover her whole head, so I convinced her to let me keep her nose unwrapped. I really had fun today.

Off to watch Crossing Jordan!

Happy early Halloween!

Actually, Happy Halloween, All Saints Day, Samhain, or however you might celebrate this holiday! This is my favorite time of year... leaves changing, marching bands, football season, trick-or-treaters, cold weather. I'm getting ready to make candy apples for tomorrow night... another reason to like this time of year. Well, if I could only find my candy thermometer, I can make them! 8:48pm

15 minute pause...

Ha! I found it! Right where I left it "so I'd remember", actually. DUH is the only word that comes to mind right now. Off to make candy apples! 9:06pm

Party in my cubicle!

Ok, maybe not directly inside my cubicle, but outside in the courtyard... we had a company Halloween lunch/costume contest. I'll post pics when I can this weekend.

In the meantime, here's a pic of our cake again! I'm re-posting it b/c in exactly 16 days, we get to thaw out the top of this cake (which has been in our freezer taking up some major space since 11-13 of last year) and chomp down! It's cream cheese cake and cream cheese icing - Lord help me - we will eat every last crumb! I think at the rate we paid for it, the crumbs probably cost a quarter apiece, so it's a waste of $$ not to do so! :) I even have wedding napkins left over. :)

I can't wait to re-arrange my freezer!

We're hoping to go to a local haunted house tonight called Wompus Woods. It's a whole forest full of scary sh*^$t, chainsaw people, zombies, etc. You actually drive through it, so at least I can lock my doors LOL.

Well, too much crap to do and not enough time in which to do it. Later!
