Well, I started the day off in a rush - getting the whole house cleaned for hub's co-worker coming over. Hub was on third this weekend and he got off early, so when I woke up Monday morning, he'd done over 2/3 of my honey-do list. The rest of my time was spent getting small things done and basically enjoying the day. I didn't even have to cook.
All in all, a good day. Yay!

Need... SLEEPY! / Doggie Chronicles, Part 1
I am at a thought impasse. I had insomnia the night before (maybe for the first time in my life). I finally went to bed when my body told me I was tired… by about 2:30 AM. How is it that I go to bed when my body tells me to do so but I’m still about to fall out from sleep deprivation this morning? I must have cleaned half the house. I was up MOPPING at 2 in the morning. Fiona, the dog, had gone to sleep 4 hours before. Geez. Well, I’m paying for it today, that's for sure.
Change of subject...
To give you an idea of what we're going through with Fiona and her transition to our household from the "streets," take a look at what I posted on http://www.baddogs.com/ about her. You'll get more information later... and pictures! I finally found my camera cable in our remaining boxes from the move and uploaded 500-ish pictures from my data card, which is everything I took from January to present.
Breaking in a New Home
Fiona: Mix
Hi! My name is Fiona, and I just got a new home on March 26th, 2008. I was a stray for awhile. I had a good home, but for some reason, I just didn't stay there. I even know some of my commands and not pee-peeing in the house! Mommy adopted me from a lovely family who had rescued me from the streets. They had been holding onto me until someone like Mommy and Daddy came along to take me to my furever home. I am so glad they saved me! I was getting tired of worrying about food and where I would hide from the mean, loud rain. Mommy tried to figure out my real name, but I wouldn't help her out. She's teaching me to learn my new name.
So now I am home with Mommy, Daddy, and these two furry things they call cats. Oh, how I despise them! But anyway, Mommy and Daddy put me in the grrrage for a week or so until their friend lent them my crate. I decided I didn't like that stupid grrrage, so I proceeded to try and dig my way out of it. Did you know there is funny white stuff in the panels of the garage door? It sticks to my body when i roll in it, and I love it. Daddy informed Mommy that it was a styrofoam panel, whatever that is, and that it was rooinned. Why would they use a bunch of french words anyway? Hoomans are weird. So I checked out another panel while I was at it... on the other door. It might have had a different taste, you know. It didn't, though. I was disappointed. Mommy used french words again.
Mommy got my crate later, so I finally got to go inside. Yay! I was checking out the soft covers on the floor they called carpet, testing its sleep and clawing factors. Both tests were positive. I can, in fact, sleep on it and claw it. I also found that bamboo window covers don't taste so good. I left those stoopid pieces in a pile in front of the window for Mommy and Daddy to find... same for the 2 inch plantation blinds. I have had those before, but these had a more expensive taste. I don't think I'll be eating those again. Mommy rasied them too high now. I just can't help it when they leave me alone. I have this thing where I don't like to be alone too long or to be closed up too long. I tried to get through my door once also. Daddy said he has to take it off and reepaynt it.
So, about these "cats." Mommy and Daddy love on them and pick them up all the time. I don't like that at all! I'm in my crate having to behave or sleep, and there they are free and having a good time! So I decided that I was going to show them what's what. I broke out of my crate and chased them all over the house! I woke up Daddy barking at them while they were under the bed. Ha - I showed them! I didn't hurt them, though. I made Mommy cry when she found out at work. She got scared and stopped trusting me. She's decided SHE'S the top dog now and has been making me sit ALL the time now anytime I want something. I don't know who she thinks she is, but she's doing what I heard her say were submishun exrrsizes. Who knows? Maybe I'll be able to be a baddog when she's gone.
More later!

This Monday in the KiKi-World
Good afternoon.
Well, I did go Grandma-sit. She and I had a pretty good night. We watched most of Wyatt Earp, which I'd never given a chance since I'm a die-hard Tombstone fan. Funny though, Wyatt Earp is the more accurate movie. Of course I pick the one starring Val Kilmer. =) Dennis Quaid held his own, though, in the world of Doc Holliday portrayers. That's always my favorite character, no matter which version I watch. Anyway, I locked Grandma in and went home to get ready for work VERY early this morning. She was up, too. Nothing gets past her, LOL.
I brought my lunch to work today. I ought to do it more often. I would put some $$ back in my pocket, that's for sure. We need every penny lately. We're trying to pay off all the piddly things that eat up our paychecks. I'm half done with paying off my NordicTrack, and next is our high-interest computer account, Dell. 29% APR is no joke. I feel like it'd be better to just have to come over and bring their baseball bats. I think it would have been a better interest rate if it'd been in my name, but I proclaimed that I was overextended at the time, since most everything is in my name. Besides, it's good to have something in hubby's name since he's trying to rebuild his own credit. We also have to pay off our furniture, which is a little over $3,200.00 now. I've been putting a little here and there toward it, but nothing huge until I pay off the other two.
We didn't get to go to our nephew's baptism yesterday. I felt so bad about it, but hubby was sick, and still is. He woke me up and told me he felt bad. I checked his head and it felt like he had a slight fever, but I could tell he was freezing. Needless to say, we didn't want to have him spread his potential germs all over North Carolina and his own nephew. We felt so bad about it, though. Mother-in-law told me this morning that Jacob asked about us, and had written a birthday card for Josh. So I have family guilt today.

I also have hubby guilt, but that takes explanation.
I had a plan of taking him out to dinner on Saturday for his birthday. On our way out of the apartment parking lot, there was a note on his old car (the crappy one without a tag) stating something like 'have it outta here in 24 hours or face it being towed at your expense.' We called his best friend to see if hje knew anyone who could deal with it on a weekend. I was finally able to get our landlord when they open on Sunday at noon and beg for an extension. However, he got so upset about the whole thing that he said turn the car around and go home; he wasn't hungry anymore. What he really meant to say, I found out later on, was more like 'let's deal with this first and then we'll go back out.' It didn't come out like that, so I got pissed, yanked the car around (literally), and drove home. Shame on me. Shame on him, too. We both overreacted and blew our tops. That's embarrassing to say, but we did. We got home and our attitudes didn't get any better. Then I got upset and started cleaning (as many of us females like to do when we're ill). Many details aside, we got into fighting about other things (cleaning, responsibilities, etc.), and we both ruined the night.
We eventually made up, chalking it up to stress and frustration. I paid for takeout from the place we were going to go to, he picked it up, and we ate at home. I have decided that I want to have a make-up date where I do everything. I feel bad that his birthday night went badly. He's trying to take all the responsibility, but we are both to blame.
We are having a birthday dinner night at his mom's on Saturday or Sunday. That's at least one good thing in the future. So many bad things have happened in the last few months that we need a break. I can't wait for vacation in November. I know some people go through worse, but when things were good for so long, it's hard to take in bad things when they all hit you at once (Crissa, PaPa, finances, etc).

Looks like someone has a case of the Mondays.

Well, maybe not, but it was a funny enough title.
Aww! I checked my site stats, like I do every once in awhile. I'm so excited that I actually am starting to have return visitors!
I'll update my 101 in 1001 stuff sometime tonight. Not much new to add except pictures & whatnot, which are right here!
Long overdue money in the piggy update: $16.42 (which is now extra $$ for Gatlinburg).
D and I stood in line Friday afternoon during lunch break to get a ticket for the Harry Potter midnight book release that night. For book 6, Josh and I were approximately #1300-something, maybe worse. This time, we were there at the beginning of the ticket-giving-out time, so we were #130! We took his parents out for dinner (late birthday present for his mom) and came home later to meet D, who went with us to Barnes & Noble at about 11PM.
We got there and were surrounded by 1500-2000 people (of course, mainly children). Actually, we couldn't have arrived at a better time. Ten minutes after we walked in, they started telling people where to stand. We were in the 3rd group, and 3 groups at a time got called, so that put us in the first combined group. We were only there until 12:30 this time (compared to 2:30ish for book 6 - horrid!!). I went home and read a chapter before I even went to bed. Ha! Now I'm at page 350 or so.
I also want to read a little before I go to bed, so I'm off. Night!
