I was in a wonderful concert this weekend. I am a piccolo/flute player with the Greenville Concert Band (Greenville, SC) and we performed in front of the Front Porch Coffee Bar, which is a coffee shop in an old train caboose. It is surrounded by little shops, and the whole thing is just so quaint and adorable!
We played everything from The Blue and the Gray (a civil war medley with a fun piccolo duet) to The Marriage of Figaro - and the audience liked it all! I don't think we've ever had such an appreciative audience! We heard wolf whistles and and even received a standing "o" at the end. It's nice to play for grateful people. We've had concerts where we heard snoring - and we're one of the more entertaining instrumental groups in our region (I dont think they snored because WE were boring; I think they did it because they were dragged there by someone else and they didn't want to be there in the first place)! We all went home with smiles on our faces Saturday for sure! I carpooled with four other people since Josh had to work, so we had alot to talk about on the way home.
The drive from Greenville to Saluda and back was just beautiful. The rain stayed away and it was just a little sunny, so we had a wonderful time looking at the gorgeous scenery. The mountains are fascinating to me. I'm glad I brought my camera!
